True story. Junior Johnson was a moonshine runner and early champion stock car
racer.
He was sitting in a bar talking to one of the revenuers who had tried to catch
him without success. The revenuer suggested that he go to one of race tracks in
NC and sign up as a driver.
He did, and was so
Jewish for sure!

No, I think Baptists love stock car racing.
The south is full of Baptists and that is where stock car racing came from.

You've got the right Ogema (don't think there is another). When I lived at
home, orbit was pretty much restricted Wausau, Tomahawk, Medford, Phillips.
Occasional trips to Ladysmith. Many trips to Northern Minnesota.

West of Tomahawk, South of Phillips. From Rhinelander, SW to
Tomahawk, then West to Ogema.
You can't repent your sins unless you have some... ;))
Stock car racing evolved from shine running... Must have been a federal
program sort of like midnight basketball to get the criminals off the
street... ;))

My first car summer was a 31 Model A Ford 5-window coupe that had just been
semi-restored; looked great and was in reasonably good condition; usually
drove it at redline - 55 to 60 mph. It literally hummed; worst thing about
it was getting it stopped. Girl friend (SWMBO) loved it, and I'm

all maintenance and any other expenses) was a '63 beetle that my older
brother gave up on. He had rebuilt the motor using over-sized pistons, the
engine made a ticking noise when done, so he bought a '68 squareback. I

I have come onto many interesting cars. When i was about 15 or 16 i bought a

I got the title and the car showed only about 20,000 miles.
I paid $20. I STILL have the car
Renault Dauphine - now there's a blast from the past. Parts are still
