I know the DAS-3 (and DAS-2) fobs are car/chassis specific .. the
switchblades you just stick in the ignition and wait.. the plastic keys...
dealer.
Reprogramming them to work on another car... thats why there are so many
of them on ebay for cheap. They are usable for the plastic casings only.

Can anyone recall where I might have seen instructions on repairing the
infrared key fobs on the late 1990s cars?
I googled "infrared key fob repair" on mercedesshop and "how to repair
mercedes infrared key 1997 SL500", and "mercedes key fob repair" on google.
I bought a new one from Rust
