Re: [MBZ] Lead and CDL
I cut my journalistic teeth on linotype machines before drifting away to geology. I was always fascinated by the Rube Goldberg complexity of them, including the little swimming pool of melted antimony (lead?) [MBZ] Lead and CDL
Andrew, CDL is commercial as in semi truck license and also requires a medical Dan, the type lead we keep as type ... there is no great market for type so I hoard it up to use when I print something which I do sometimes As for the Linotype lead it sells for at least $2 a lb on ebay ... it is this alloy https://www.rotometals.com/linotype-alloy-alloy-5-pounds-4-tin-12-antimony-and-84-lead/ They are selling it for $4 lb Maybe price is up I’ll sell it to you guys too Good for your Linotype or Ludlow machine or for your bullet mold Xx rick ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
[MBZ] lead
Folks I have a lot of lead as in several tons of Linotype metal (4% Tin, 12% Antimony and 84% Lead) It is in the form of standing type forms (strips of type) and is clean and ready to melt to make sinkers or bullets. I think the bullet people like the hardness of the alloy. I have mostly been selling it on ebay for $2/lb plus shipping. It can be shipped relatively cheaply in USPS flat rate boxes …. 14 or 15 lbs fits in the small one that ships for less than $6 …. move in the larger boxes, but it has to be packed very securely. If any of you need some, feel free to contact me directly. thanks, xx rick Rick Hawkins ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
