It has the updated screw, forget what color. It was installed about 1 year ago.
But there is no engine loping (if that is the right word), i.e the engine
does not vibrate at idle after the engine has warmed up just a little bit (1

I'm just taking a WAG, but If your valves are just a bit tight I could see
where it might make enough difference before the engine could warm up a bit
and combustion chamber pressure would improve from the increased
temperature. The glow plugs would possibly be enough to get it to start
of course, it could be something as simple as a small air leak in the fuel
supply near the engine that takes a while to work itself out,... (i've seen
leaking hand pumps cause symptoms exactly like what was described,...)
are there any signs that the primer pump or the filters or lines could
