What email programs are you talking about? Most webmail programs, Micro$#it
Outlook and Exp, Opera, Eudora, Netscape, etc start you at the top.

posting; Outlook, SquirrelMail, and even my old Netscape Mail all default

Gmail automatically sets up a top posting format, and then tabs the
responses to show snippets of the successive top posted responses to the
original post--very easy to navigate. It also acts as a rather nice
searchable arch
How about the fact that most email programs automatically make you
bottom post. We top posters
are more willing to go the extra mile and scroll back up.
