I don't recall doing window scrapers on a W124, but on the W123 and W126 the outer scraper is clipped to the outer window sill moulding. The scraper itself can be pulled up and out of the clip on both the inside and outside. The clips are very, very strong, and you might find yourself pulling

Yes, but do it carefully so that you don't bent it. If you do, it could end up with a curl in it that makes it tough to get fully seated again. I highly recommend the use of plastic body filler spreaders/scrapers to get under this sort of thing to pry it up. You won't damage the paint that way,
