It's probably to handle the additional weight in the rear - more weight
means it needs more braking power. If you don't load up the rear, the sedan
calipers would most likely be fine, and better than no rear brakes!

I have one front shock I got off the E500 at the knacker, it still had
rear bags but bags are not much, could be a reasonable deal

My only concern is that my indie tech (who has owned and repaired 123
diesels for decades) thinks that the RR caliper for the wagon differs from
that of the sedan. I will double check with Tom Hanson.

Does the EPC cover older 123s? Go to that and look up the part number
for your wagon and for sedans and see if they are different.
