[MBZ] Cleaning out fuel tank

I’m in the process of cleaning out this 116 450 fuel tank. The first step was I took it down to the carwash with the sender and screen out and power washer it. Next I reinstalled the sender and screen, duct taped the hose connections, and filled the tank with 10 gallons of vinegar. The plan was

I think I got it all out. I ended up just running water out of the hose alternating between the fuel sender and the main hose connection while holding the tank up shaking it while the water flowed out of the filler neck. Now I think I will dump a bottle of rubbing alcohol in it to try to remove

Next I will clean up the fuel sender for the 116. Hopefully it’s able to be saved. I have not taken the tube off yet. Should I take it off and let it soak in the parts washer for like a week, or maybe let it soak in something else before I start cleaning on it? Sent from my iPhone
