Hello All,
I am interested in towing my 17 foot sailboat with my car. I guess it is 2
questions:
Should I tow a very light sailboat with this car?
and my real question: What sort of hardware should I put on it to be able
to tow, perhaps a brand and source?
I would like one that has a removable
I have something going on with my 82 300TD (144 kmiles) the front end is
riding up much higher than it used to. There was always a slight alignment
problem where one of the front tires would wear out prematurely on the
outer edge. I had the car recently aligned and it seems to ride even
higher
To clarify, it is a sedan not a wagon. It does *not* have the leveling
system.
Also, the back does not appear that low but the front is a lot higher.
If I do need to replace the rear subframe mounts would that be a job that I
could do with only one hydraulic jack and 4 jack stands? would I need
Someone made a reference to a simple fix and a clogged injector which made
me think of my car when I got it. It had a shake at idle and running a can
of diesel purge through it, from the engine area bypassing the gas tank
etc. really improved the idle smoothness and was easy, simply get some fuel
I have a 1982 300D that I have enjoyed a great deal, especially for its
reliability and how easy it seems to be to work on. Was thinking of starting to
look for a Mercedes SL from the same era. They were produced from 1971 to 1989.
Was wondering if any years are more or less desirable for any
I think one reason to get a new or considerably newer car than the '82 diesel
Mercedes that I drive is that newer cars are much safer. Many have 7 or more
airbags with active traction control and ABS.

What do you clean with this related to car repair? What parts or part
conditions respond well to this type of cleaning?

I was able to improve shaking when idle by running diesel purge through the
injectors. Perhaps 2 cans.

Something you can do to make hand clean up easier after working on your car is
to put some heavy moisturizer on beforehand. Grease will have less to stick to.

I have a good friend who has been a certified mechanic for years. Works on RR
and Bentley and manufactures auto parts for these brands.
He has spoken very favorably about the transmission flush machines, said he has
seen them bring troubled transmissions back to life.

Good Afternoon!
When I was adjusting the valves last fall I was surprised to see that there
seemed to be a slight build-up of sort of gummy oil around the valves. Was
not terrible but I could understand why it might not want to drain out in
an oil change.
I have heard some conflicting advice on
