You dont have to get the lines from the dealer.
I had to cut one to get them out, and my local McParts had the correct
fittings.
Although it was longer and had to be bent.
Compare the $40 dealer price to $3.
The dealer one's I am told do not come pre bent.

You should mark the location on the shaft if you intend to put it back.
Only pull on the center hub.

That link is quite accurate.
With one exception, the ultimate test is using a current meter.
They should draw about 20 amps initially.
Seeing it glow to me is not definitive.

Note it was done as part of a job to replace the flange or circular cam that
drives the vacuum pump.
