I've been checking car-part.com for the last 8 months. Not many out there
and they are too expensive. Mostly in the same price range as the one Rich
looked at. None even close to me as well. I kind of tend to agree with Kaleb

Hi All,
The steering gearbox on my '83 300CD has developed a leak. I can't really
identify where the leak is coming from but it is definitely from the
gearbox. I have a spare box from my wagon parts car I could use to replace
it with or I could try the gasket rebuilt kit. Anyone had luck
Thanks Peter. I've seen the picture of the gasket kit on Rusty's site and
was a bit intimidated. I think I hear you telling me to swap the steering
box with the one from my parts car.

I'd be interested in seeing what it goes for if it hits Ebay. It is a dead
ringer for my '90 with the cracked head. Did you drive it by any chance? I'm
curious how the engine performed with that many miles. I'm also selling my
'87 wagon but have had limited interest at $2000. Here's a link.
