Re: [MBZ] 2011 Mercedes Benz C300: Code P0410 - Secondary Air Injection System Malfunction
My 90E320 throws that code and sometimes on startup it dies after a coupla seconds but then restarts and runs OK. The supposed fix is to get under the intake manifold and fix some leaking hoses. They are impossible to reach without doing that and I’m too lazy to fool with it. --FT Sent from iFōn > On Dec 11, 2021, at 12:10 PM, Jim Cathey via Mercedes > wrote: > > Our E320 has that code. Our E320 has that code. I know the pump runs. My brother tells me there's a sensor, which is how it knows that air pressure is insufficient. Sensor could fail, one-way valve could fail, hoses could fail... FWIW. Most European cars of that era have secondary air pumps. The concertina pipes that connect the air pump to the EGR system turn into Rice Krispies after about 10 years. Leaky tubes will set an alarm. YMMV. [MBZ] 2011 Mercedes Benz C300: Code P0410 - Secondary Air Injection System Malfunction
Hi all, My daughter's 2011 C300 (90K) had a check engine light with a code P0410 indicating an issue with the secondary air pump. I replaced the secondary pump (which was evidently seized) and reset the code. Drove it about 50 miles with no check engine light so I returned the car and started a vacation about 4 hours away. She drove the car and a few hours ago and the check engine light came back with the same code. Should I have replaced the relay and fuse too? The fuse looked fine when I checked it before the repair. Does anyone have a schematic of the engine fuse box which lists the fuse and relay locations? I can't seem to locate a good one online. I have the fuse and relay so I could have her replace them and reset the code to see if that fixes the problem before I return in a week. The secondary air pump was replaced 6 years and 60K ago by the dealer under warranty. Is this a common problem? Thanks in advance for any assistance!
