Re: [MBZ] Florid prose for entry level '65 finnie sedan
My first Mercedes was a 1966 230. It had been sitting parked and I went in and asked about it. Bought it for $100. Not running, and kind of rough cosmetically. I did get it running and started to clean it up a bit but the engine had low oil pressure and I didn't want to do a rebuild. So I sold it on. For nowhere close to that kind of money. They are very basic cars but they do have a certain appeal for that reason. They are still built like a Mercedes. I would agree with Allan. You can't get any lower in the product line than one of these, they're very stark/plebeian. However, their simplicity is also appealing to many, which has some effect on the desirability. I don't track these, but as described it sounds like a $6k car or thereabouts.
