I think it would be more fun to blow their doors off with klatta.
Some of those Hondas are 10 second cars, we can forget about them.

Yeah, but far more are relatively stock cars with body kits, stickers,
and loud exhausts. (I suppose our motorcyclist friends would say this
makes them safer. ;) ) It would still take some effort to beat them
with a diesel -- the power-to-weight ratio of a stock Civic Si is
nothing to sneeze at. It's got a third more power than a 300D Turbo and
considerably less curb weight.

Typical MBZ diesel weight distribution will keep your 1/4 mile times
in the 13s, but that should take care of any idiot kids who race
their Hondas on the street. All you need is a 450hp OM606 and a
beefed up 722.3 tranny.

I think we've all seen Rehtijii's W123 300D turn a 13.69, but if you
missed it, here it is, along with a 13.4 run for Jorma's W201:

The Galant VR4 was a sweet car, from what I remember the one time I
drove one. Very much like the original Audi Quattro to drive... harsh
suspension, terrible turbo lag, but keep it above 4000 RPMs and
nothing could touch it on a wet road.

I have paid zero attention to anything other than Mercedes for some
time now - how much power would the "Mitsu V6 Twin Turbo with after
market intercooler" produce? I'm assuming it's also light?

I'm toying with the idea of building my second 117.985 for more power,
but there are probably easier, cheaper ways of getting that power.

A friend had a 91 galant vr4, which in and of itself looked like a boring
econobox. the vr4 was all wheel drive, all wheel steer, 16v 2.0L turbo.
His was heavily modified under the hood, getting 340 horse at the wheels.

To say that car surprised a lot of people would be an understatement. Camaro
fishing in that car was incredibly entertaining.

Aluminimum block - nope - about the same weight as the iron 1600 that came out.
