Re: [MBZ] OT: Ting cell phone service
Why would you need to buy a new phone, Curt? My LG retails for $500, or $150 copay under warranty. That means I wouldn't want to switch from Sprint. Re: [MBZ] OT: Ting cell phone service
I picked Ting because they ride on Sprint's network, so we could keep my wife's Sprint phone, iPhone 4s. Using their "savings calculator" I entered the usage data from four months of Sprint bills, and their estimated savings of $50/month has been spot-on for the first two months. If you switch from AT&T, you may need a new phone. Yes, capitalism (market with lots of options) is good! Government-enforced monopolies (obamacare) are bad... -- Max Dillon Charleston SC '87 300TD '95 E300 On June 10, 2015 8:58:58 AM EDT, Curt Raymond via Mercedes wrote: >I went with Republic Wireless almost a year ago from Verizon. Re: [MBZ] OT: Ting cell phone service
I went with Republic Wireless almost a year ago from Verizon. My bill went from $91 to $43.I did have to buy a new phone but with that monthly savings it only took about 6 months to pay for it, never mind the cash I got back for selling an iPhone 5. I get unlimited talk and text with 5GB data. Looks like with Ting I could potentially save some more since I never really go over about .5GB.LTE coverage seems to extend to my camp in Maine too which would be nice, currently I'm in roaming data there which mean I only get 25MB of data which runs out quick. Dad bought a hotspot so I can just buy a few gigs of data service but its not as handy as actually having it on my phone and my phone won't act as a hotspot on my current provider.Still, it doesn't look like I could save more than maybe $15/mo, lots of phone options though which is nice. Angie is still using AT&T @$70/mo, maybe this will be an option for her. -Curt From: Max Dillon via Mercedes To: Mercedes Cc: Max Dillon Sent: Wednesday, June 10, 2015 8:37 AM Subject: [MBZ] OT: Ting cell phone service Love it.
