Like any social gathering in Wisconsin, I’m sure there was a fair amount of
alcohol consumption involved. Might ot have had any feathered hats, but I’ll
bet there was just as much (or more) booze.

We called them Turkey Shoots in Wisconsin, didn't raise them to quite the
same art form / celebration.
Once when I was involved in a joint operation, on base there was a platoon from
some European country with feathered hats very similar to those on the
pictures. We found them quite amusing,
