Yes watch those rear subframe mounts. I’m repairing the left one on the 1990 300D 2.5 as we speak. I did the right in the fall. I’m able to do them with the subframe in situ but that’s because they haven’t yet collapsed! Evaporator issues. Needs a head gasket (oil leaks) and possibly rebuild the head (brass, not bronze valve guides). The rear subframe mounts may need rebuilt (rust) May need all new bushings or control arms too. It would have to be thoroughly inspected. Possible transmission issues too. https://classics.honestjohn.co.uk/reviews/mercedes-benz/e-class-w124/buying/ https://www.benzworld.org/threads/w124-buyers-guide.1480799/ There was a really good buyers guide on MBZ.ORG but the way back machine isn't cooperating right now. I'll post it tomorrow if I find it. Looked nice from what I could see driving by; too dark to really get a look at it so I didn't stop but I might go back and check it out tomorrow. Not on local CL; maybe on Facebook? I don't use it.
