No joy. Then I got in the car to drive home, saw the switch on the dash, hit it and the trunk lid rose. Got out, shut it, and it opened by pushing the cylinder in. Possible lingering problem: I thought the lock cylinder was flush with the surrounding plastic. Now it's recessed about 1/4 Mitch.

It's back to (ab)normal now. (the auto-close isn't working, so it sits slightly ajar instead of pulling itself tightly closed) I pulled the cylinder out with the key, opened the trunk with the dash switch, closed the trunk. Now, when I open the trunk with the lock cylinder, the cylinder stays
