Somebody with the right computer magic should be able to tell you whats going
on. I'd guess theres a sensor somewhere thats gone stupid. The nice thing about
modern computer controlled vehicles is you can have that level of electronics
interrogation.

Subject: [MBZ] '08 CLK 350 Electric Cooling Fan Update
When the car is started first thing in the morning, the electric fan
works/AC works. When I restart the car when it is at normal operating temp,
the white (not red) coolant alarm is in and the electric fan will not come
on. This, of course, locks out the AC compressor but everything else works
fine.
What do I need to replace?
