I think the ceramic pads come already set by a baking process, read that over the weekend on one of the makers websites. Not sure if Akebono are same, I don't remember any special process when I installed them a few years ago. Just paid $45, I think OE from MB run about $70 or more. -- Max

I have had ATE ceramics on my TE for a few months now and no dramas, except for a bit of squeal when reversing down the drive. Also getting a bit of slow braking ABS pulsing but not sure if the pads are to blame for that. It's getting close to needing to do a few jobs on the S124, so will
