More than anything else it will ruin your visibility in rain, it will smear something horrible as the wax starts to wear. Won't do the wiper blades any good, either, and it's impossible to get the wax off them, you will need to replace them. I have used Rain-X since it first came out and was sold through dealers, a la Amsoil. You have to apply it per the directions, and do so exactly as described. Two coats to assure proper coverage, and a good buffing afterwards with a lightly dampened cloth. I use it regularly, and have done so for many years. The only complaint I have is at low speeds in light rain, when there isn't enough air velocity to move the water off the glass. I guess I'll just present the bill to Wilton! I've tried Rain-X, and found it to work quite well for me. Used it on my old '85 300TD and on SWMBO's car. It is rather a pain to apply, so once my bottle was empty I decided to forgo the product as I didn't really want to spend the time applying it. -Max -Original Message- From: mercedes-boun...@okiebenz.com [mailto:mercedes-boun...@okiebenz.com] On Behalf Of Peter Frederick Sent: Monday, February 21, 2011 6:52 PM To: Mercedes Discussion List Subject: Re: [MBZ] Did a Wilton on my car today More than anything else it will ruin your visibility in rain, it will smear something horrible as the wax starts to wear.
