Penray sells 40% starting fluid.
$25/dozen cans sounds reasonable, if putting more heptane than ether in the mix
is OK.

The propellant is CO2, so it goes away by itself.

Mitch.

It may be diethyl ether USP which is pure enough for use as an anesthetic in
surgery. Hence the high price.

Dimethyl ether is probably what MMM needs for his planes and shouldn't be so
expensive:

"Dimethyl ether: An aerosol spray propellant. A potential renewable alternative
fuel for diesel engines with a cetane rating as high as 56–57."

Is there any reasonable excuse for ether to cost $200 a gallon?

Hey Mike, I've got a couple of Tower .40 engines if you'd rather experiment
with E85 and a little nitro.

Mitch, who knew about the bean oil but had no idea model aviation diesel had
ether in it.
