Yup. I saw 37 mpg at the first fuel stop, and figured I hadn't filled
the tank, but it kept it the whole trip.

There's a fellow on Mercedesshop who put a 5sp OD in a 190 turbo. He
got 39mpg on an extended trip at 75-80. I read things on the net like

However I know the odo doesn't work in it.
My W116 got 26-28mpg driving home from Florida when I bought it, according

Driving hundreds of miles without a cold start sure helps the mileage.
That's how my '78 300cd was able to get 28MPG on the highway coming back to

That was before I learned how to adjust valves, and I didn't own it

OK - it's hard for me to beleive as well. Here's what I did -- new
Kuhmo tires - the right size, aired up to 2Lb. over spec., drove the
speed limit (shocking - but I did it this time), and used the GPS for
an odometer, since the one in the car doesn't work. Maybe the GPS
isn't right? Streets and

I will be watching it in the future, and will report what ever
happens. Still seems too good to be true, we'll see if it can be
repeated. And I echo Dwight's sentiments about the car ---

What fuel mileage does the '95 300D with the 606 get? THere's a nice
looking one on eBay right now - in Philly that isn't going for all
that much - yet.

Depends on fuel and how you drive. I was getting 33-36mpg depending
on how long I stayed on the highway. Did a cross country at 75-90mph
for those results. Around town it gets down to 25mpg on B20.
