Is there a well pump that can produce potable water? Nice thing to have
after next hurricane disrupts all utilities, if you can run the pump via
generator. No need to worry about how soft or hard the water, but
something to drink/cook/clean with would be huge.

There are 2 well holes right next to the house, I took off the pump and
will keep them from getting destroyed. I think there is another well
away from the house, might have to see if that has water in it. The PO
said it had a lot of iron in it, and the water table had dropped quite a
bit, so
What are those little white rock things and can I dump them out
somewhere or will they kill everything within miles?
Salt. Handy for melting snow on sidewalks, etc.
Not too good for the shrubbery, in quantity.
What is that stuff in the scuba tank thing?
Resin ion-exchange beads.

Google is my friend -- I read about those systems, guess I could take
the salt to the beach or dump it by the marsh (our blizzard last
Saturday was about 1/2!) or put it in the trash. The little beads can
just go wherever I guess. Or I have a lifetime supply of seasoning if I
live 200 years.

Well we have plenty of those, so I guess they might like it (though
there is plenty of salt water around for them)
