In 1978, I removed from service 12 large Jimmy Diesels in the power generation plant at Sondrestrom AB, Greenland, that had been running for 38 years. Parts had gotten hard to get. When we needed parts, we had to have somebody in Denmark or USA make 'em. 'Sold 'em to a Finnish salvage outfit.

For the average consumer a petrol engine is better, specially back then when the price of fuel was not that high. You have to remember that there is a huge difference between building a big Diesel and a little Diesel engine. Especially a two stroke with a blower. Then there is the narrow power
