Let's hope there are some Americans who can do still the math needed to calculate the improved mileage Vs the higher cost of diesel - in the past it was approx 30% - so if regular is say, $4 (to keep it simple), diesel would have to be more than $4x1.3= $5.20 to hit break even. Of course that

I CANNOT understand why folks change oil so often. This fellow could reduce his cost by 50% at least buy changing at 5KMI. I do my truck at 5 to 7 KMI and the engine is very tight at 200KMI. Oil analysis's says everything is good to go. Do these same folks throw away 50% of their fuel?

2 gallon oil changes in the Powerstroke. My 6.9L IDI required 10 qts, the '94 and '97 PSD's required 12/14 qts, and the '99 PSD required 15 qts. I'm not sure what the 6.0L PSD's require, but the 6.7L Cummins is somewhere around 12 qts. What's the oil capacity of the D-Max? Kevin in

I think the data he gets comes from the older cars... With the newer engines that are more efficient and have tighter clearances it might (should) be different. I've seen oil analysis from multiple OM60x engines going 10k miles or more with the oil analysis being just fine. My owners manual
