confirm that. Guess Elon Musk never heard of Demming. Tesla is a subsidy farm

Low mileage Tesla story.
I would have returned it before driving it two blocks.

https://www.thedrive.com/news/43876/tesla-model-3-owner-discovers-car-was-delivered-missing-a-brake-pad

Gillmore, who showed her written exchanges with Tesla to The Drive, took
delivery of her EV on Dec. 19, only to notice a worrying scraping sound
from the driver-side rear wheel while driving. The following day, she
reported the issue to Tesla, which told her no appointments for
inspection were available any sooner than three weeks out. The next day,
Gillmore was offered a prompter appointment at a third-party shop, but
feeling it was inappropriate, she declined, only for Tesla to later tell
her the offer was a mistake, and finally request a video of the issue.

Gillmore recorded the above video to send to her Tesla service advisor,
who claims multiple technicians listened to the video, only to declare
"the brakes sounded normal for a performance Model 3." Gillmore didn't
buy it and pushed to get an appointment sooner, only to be told to get
the car towed in if she was worried.

She was right to be concerned, as by Dec. 23 the noise had gotten so bad
that she visited an independent local Tesla shop, where a technician
removed a wheel to discover the inside brake pad on the left-rear corner
was missing. In a video captured by said tech, he posits that the car
likely needs not just a pad, but also a new rotor and brake caliper.
Only after seeing this video, Gillmore says, did the Tesla service
center invite her in.

2022-01-15 Thread Randy Bennell via Mercedes

Pt!
Everyone knows that a W115 240D will do a million miles on the original
motor and get over 40 mpg and blow ice cold AC.
What is the big deal about an electric car? What has he spent on
electricity to fuel his car and how much of it was produced from coal?

A Tesla owner in Germany may just have the record for highest-mileage Model
S in the world. He recently rolled over 1.5 million kilometers (932,256
freedom miles if you live in the U.S.) in his Model S P85.

Getting to this number was no cheap feat for the owner. It’s been through
quite a number of parts

in
its lifetime. The owner, Hansjörg von Gemmingen-Hornberg says the car is on
at least its third battery. The first was replaced under warranty at about
180,000 miles. The second was replaced after about 93,000 additional miles
before the third battery was installed. So far, the Model S has done more
than 621,000 miles on that third battery.

That isn’t all. The car also needed four drive motors to reach over 900,000
miles. The P85 has only one drive motor on the real axle. That means three
different drive motors have failed.

But how has this Tesla racked up so many miles? Well, the owner uses it as
a taxi. He also chronicles his journeys on his very-German Twitter account

.

— Hansjörg von Gemmingen - Hornberg (@gem8mingen) January 6, 2022

According to InsideEVs, he reached the 900,000-kilometer (559, mile)
mark in July 2019. That means he has averaged about 150,000 miles annually
since then. That works out to over 400 miles a day packing onto this
Tesla’s odometer.

There are a few high-milage Model S’s trolling around the world right now,
like this 425,000 mile example
.
But it’s safe to say the German car blows this one out of the water.

The owner has stayed mum on exactly how much the repairs have cost over the
life of his Model S – perhaps because it would make no logical sense to
pour this money into a car to keep it going, or perhaps because it isn’t
our business.

So, while we may not know how much he’s paying for the privilege of driving
a Model S nearly a million miles in less than ten years, we will certainly
be able to follow along on his Twitter account

.

The batteries are probably better, plus the owner may have figured out
not to run it below 20% every day.

I'm amazed that he (or more likely, three shifts of drivers) managed to
average 150kmi since 2019.
That's a decent annual mileage for a single driver long haul semi in the
USA, and incredible for a taxi.

*One Tesla Model S Has Gone Nearly 1 Million Miles And Needed SomeMajor
Repairs*epairs

Well, the owner uses it as
a taxi. He also chronicles his journeys on his very-German Twitter account

.
