That does not, but the low price along with the sob story identify (are
consistent with) a scam.

Maos questions still apply:

Is it realistic that an AF guy less than a major or light bird could
afford this wagon?

WHy not take it to AK?
Etc.

These things along with the low price and sob story confirm it is a scam

I encountered one of these sob stories several years ago. It was some
woman being shipped off to desert areas, etc etc, advertised the vehicle
in gufpo't (and other places) but when you inquired and asked to see it,
it was in WA. (yeah, right...) Several other answers to questions didn't
add up. I played "her " for a while with email, then "she" stopped
answering questions. "She" had figured out we both knew it was a scam.

I don't recall what model it was but I had a client who wanted to sell a

problems that the price was low so who knows about this one.

I was tempted then to at least go and have a look at it but didnot as I was
afraid getting parts might be more

 MBUSA Rewards Loyal Diesel Owners

With the goal of rewarding long-time owners of its older diesel models,
Mercedes-Benz USA announced today that it would give $2,500 in cash to all
current owners of pre-2005 diesel models. Owners need only submit a copy
 of
 their
title or registration showing the vehicle’s VIN number, and a check
 will be
 issued immediately.

According to an MBUSA spokesperson, “Given the cost of diesel fuel
 today,
and the need to promote sales of our diesel models, we feel that this cash
reward is a great way to recognize those present diesel owners and gain
 their
support in enhancing the reputation of our cars, new and old.â€

To claim the reward, U.S. owners should see any franchised Mercedes-Benz
dealer or contact Loof Lirpa, MBUSA, One Mercedes Dr., Montvale, NJ 07645.
Canadian owners are covered by a separate program to be announced soon by
 Mercedes-Benz Canada.

Finally got around to watching this. I can't imagine why either the
owner of the site or Roger thinks this is unusual or worthy of
commentary. In my experience this kind of thing happens _every_ time
you take a car to a dealer service department for two reasons:
incompetent techs and the system that prevents you from talking to
them directly, but to a so-called service representative or service
writer who runs interference for them. Unfortunately some
independent shops are now following this model, as well (and at least
one has lost my patronage because of it).
