I think that this has been hashed over many times. But, I'll say it again. Since about 1971 or 1972 when the Mann+Hummel factory burned to the ground and Mercedes was back ordering filters to MB dealers worldwide, Knecht, Hengst Mahle were added to Mercedes list of genuine filter manufacturers.
