Sounds like the two kids who killed themselves in a Chrysler 300 a year or two 
ago up the road from me.  Road is narrow, a bit twisty, and has a negative bank 
on a left/right S turn.  

Kids went airborne and hit a maple tree three feet in diameter, both died on 
impact.  Probably doing 80 or more, tree, of course, did not move.

Hard to build any vehicle to withstand something like that and be light enough 
to drive.  

And no manufacturer can protect against stupidity.

That looks like a 164, unibody. The 163 body on frame had a 350 too. 

Some 17yo girl missed the curve just down the road a month or so ago and hit a 
big live oak tree that did not move. 2AM, >100mph, Toyota of some sort. Car was 
torn in half. I think she died in the crash, or maybe another one, a 14yo 
passenger died a couple weeks later, another girl in critical condition, maybe 
that was the driver. I have not heard about her so I guess she is still alive. 

All local kids, so sad. What they were doing out there at 2AM is still a 
mystery. And being totally stupid. I have heard nothing about alcohol so don’t 
know that aspect.
