How do I set the air gap on my AC compressor in my SDL?

It's set using shims. The only source I know of is from old Nippondenso
compressors. I have seen VERY few that aren't correct (unless people
have been playing with them).

Should be between 0.35 and 0.5 mm (as I remember).

Make sure the clutch area is clean of oil/grease (I use brake cleaner)
if you are having trouble with the compressor shutting off.

Kaleb,

It's set with small shims from Nippondenso and if not done correctly,
not that it's difficult, it'll eat the clutch! I saw that happen a few
times during my days with Toyota. Nippondenso is a spun off subsidiary,
or was anyway, of Toyota Motor Corp.

I suspect the ones not done correctly were done by lazy morons. Get the
right shims and you're golden.
