I was on back roads fortunately but NOT a fun ride with
hardly any brakes autotrans not shifting right due to
 loss of vacuum.

Why didn't you stop and plug the line to the booster to let
the transmission have vacuum.

So hopefully my power booster is
 good

Can the booster be tested to see if it will hold vacuum
without the master cylinder? If so, you could test it with a
mighty-vac, a powered vacuum pump, or even tapped into the
vacuum on a running engine.

If you order a part from a dealer and need it in a hurry, tell them to “VOR”
it. It costs them nothing extra, and as long as you order it before the cutoff
time for the day, no matter what depot it’s in in North america you’ll have it
the next morning.

They even VOR stuff from Germany, but that adds a day.

I had to order from home [Keenan in Doylestown,Pa]-They got it for me in

Attaboy!

BTW, had the same oring problem today. Needed a 3mm x about 5 dia
metric oring today. US sizes would not fit. Put the old one back
on, and rubbed it with Permatex Blue. There! I fixed it! (German
made machine gearbox)
