The easiest/fastest way is probably to install it  see if it works.  If you 
can check wiring diagrams for donor and recipient, make sure none of the 
pins/functions were moved around, then give it a try.

Pin for pin identical.

The only thing I can think of is the values are different, and the original is 
cast aluminum, the later ones are phenolic.  Dimensionally they’re the same 
except for the orientation of the connector.

Air Mass Flow Meter

It’s the doohickey that is ahead of your throttle plate in a Bosch EFI system.  
It measures airflow into the engine (very simple explanation.)
