Replaced the caliper and did brakes across the front axle with oldest son 
doing the work while I supervised (and assisted as necessary.)  Took all 
of maybe 45 minutes.  This is the second time he’s done brakes on a car, 
so he’s becoming proficient with it.  Showed him how to bleed brakes with 
a MityVac and siphon jar, too.


Tomorrow I plan on doing the fuel filter on the 94 S420, as I keep 
forgetting about it when I have the car.  I may take a swipe at the close 
assist system, as it’s a bit hinky.

Glad to hear it!  I must have forgot to tell you to detach the hood
release mechanism.  Looks like it went OK with it in place, though.

When you get that panel under the steering wheel completely free, you
are most of the way towards being able to RR the cruise control
amplifier, should that be necessary.

Wow!  I thought the old ones were a job!  They are a cakewalk 
compared to that.  Still, Not quite as bad as having to do the 
evaporator




Today's work was changing the '94 E420's headlight switch, about which I
asked about a month ago.

I'll forego the detailed explanations and just attach the pictures, since
it's getting late.

Actually, I thought it was a fairly decent job to do. I actually felt
good about doing it. I cannot say that about changing the thermostat.
I definitely cannot say that about changing the power steering pump!

The instructions I got from Alex Chamberlain and Peter Frederick were
quite helpful. The pictures, of course, are even better for anyone else
who needs to do it.
