No sealant. There is a rubber seal that is used that seals perfectly without 
sealant. The pan has places formed into the edges that make it seal properly 
and will distort if you overtighten. A common misstep by many, which causes the 
pan to leak.

Do you normally use some form of sealant on the pan to transmission 
surfaces as well? Or locktite? 7 or 8 Nm sounds sort of like not much 
more than finger tight.
