That's about right with 30-50 ft trees all the way around. It's
all I need though. By the time I get from the north end of the
runway to the dome I am in the air and by the time I get to the
other end I'm at over 400 Ft and that's not even with max climb.
Landing I touch down at the beginning
That's' plenty of runway, and sounds like LOTS of fun. A friend of one of
ours daughter's in-laws flies an RV-8 out of a 900 foot field behind his
house. That prompted me to find out if I could get in and out of such a
field. Just, I can take off in 600' and consistently stop in 850', twice as
I had a Ski Doo Blizzard 5500MX that had a type 502 in it, great engine.

All done by myself. Put up a 2x4 framework with steel hubs and
then put up the triangles row by row, joining and concreting them
together as I went. Pics below.

Id be glad to show it to you. I'm only a mile east of 301 just 3

Strong work. Did you use SIPs for your skins? Those would be easy
enough to cut into the proper faces to build any polyhedral shape. Could
probably even get the factory to make them up so no field cutting. We
have a SIP factory here, which seems to consist mainly of a large press
to glue
Will do. I found it on Google Earth.

Those are a sorta form of SIP I guess, they are structural and they are
insulated, with a different kind of joining technique. I looked at some
of the plans, I liked them.
Did you put it up yourself or contract it out (did I miss that aspect
earlier?)? I contracted out putting up my

That’s a mighty short runway. Google Maps measures the cleared area out as
about 1400 feet.

Thanks for the complements and interest guys. It's been a long
job, much longer then I thought it would, but the end is in sight.
I'm building almost all of it by myself. Up to now the only
things subbed out were the slab, some of the outside finish
stucco on the window and door dormers, (so
