Seeking magit-like interface in Emacs

Hi, I'm using Emacs and are quite used to the very powerful package "magit". Now I need to work with mercurial repositories and *seeking for „magit for mercurial"*. The ”monkey” package could be a starting point, anyhow I actually wonder whether it would be easier to teach mercurial to magit
