Hi all
I just received a report from user that he has problems starting a
Metacard standalone. He is using Windows NT 4.0. When he
double-clicks the exe file, apparently nothing happens. He emphasised
"nothing". No program starts, no error message, and no activity is
registered in the Task Manager.
The program works fine on my machine, also NT 4.0. He sent the exe in
question back to me in case there had been some file corruption, but
it runs perfectly on my machine.
Right now, I have no other details of the problem. I suspect an OS
problem at his end. (I have never experienced "nothing" happening
when double-clicking any file.) Unfortunately, the user is the IT
manager of a large company, and I have to deal with his wrath in the
morning. (He's a nice guy, but he's under pressure at his end too.)
If anyone has had a similar experience, or can suggest any possible
area to explore, I'd be very grateful.
