and paste, paste does not work.
In Revolution, if you do the same thing, paste works in both cases.
It seems Metacard empties the clipboard when it quits. Is this a bug? Is
there a workaround?

Could anybody help me with a better way to get text onto the clipboard? The
way I'm currently doing this is to put the text into a hidden field, select
it, and then 'doMenu Copy'. This works, but it seems to throw Metacard into
an unstable situation and it ends up 'unexpectedly quitting' soon
copy word 1 to 5 of fld aFld
will put those 5 words onto the clipboard

Both programatic and user access to the clipboard is a bit limited at
present.
In terms of user access, it is a problem that copying or pasting styled text
to and from fields loses the style information.
Programatically, the copy command is useful in some situations, but bizarre
in others
I have been having clipboard woes and ran a test that showed surprising results but
suggested no solutions. Maybe someone will have an idea...
The problem only exists on the PC running Windows (thanks again, Bill).
