Hi list and Mike T.
on Dean Besseys (meteoriteshop.com) salespage you can read:
NWA 1685(BL): Paired stones are in the process of being classified.
There is a bit of metal
but indications are that it will be an LL5 or LL6. But they are leaning
toward an L5 also.
So - Dean should know!

Dear Sterling
thanks for your in depth historical discussion. I agree that the historical
record is not so plain, and that the epoch was not the one of Plinius or
Ciceron.
However as we talk about St Augustine, if he was writing after the
impact(I did not check the dates, anyhow the dating of the

Hi all,
Just thought I'd share a funny / rather disturbing meteorite-related experience I had on Friday afternoon.
I went to another school here in the north of England, to give an astronomy presentation to a hall full of 90 kids aged 5 - 9... rather a heavy heart after recent events obviously,
Hello all,
Wondering if anyone who was at Michael Blood's auction can remember what the
actual classifications were of the meteorites in the Hupe contest? I
believe the answers were to be announced there.
.
Inquiring mind want to know ;-)
Thanks,

Tuscon 2003 Show Report
By Mark Bostick
I am always worried about flying with meteorites. My solution on going to
Tucson this year was to pack very little meteorites. Buying is much more
enjoyable then selling anyway. Leaving through Wichita, Kansas I had little
worries. The last year or so has

Hi Mark,
Thanks very much for the rather colorful report. I am jealous,
particularly since I have not had the plesaure of ever meeting
so many list members whom I have conversed with for so many years.
Maybe next year (only if I get a new job)...

Hello List, I just got back from the Tucson show, Boy was it great! I met a
lot of the Collectors I only have heard about. I bought 246 meteorites from
thin sections to a 3050g oriented SA. I went to Blood's action and was
yelling out the high bid on a nice meteorite when my wife shook me and
Hi Mark and List,
Thanks for giving us a ringside seat to this years event! Someday I will have
to get out there, if not to buy, then just to meet everyone.
Again Mark...thanks for being our eyes and ears to this get-together.
