Hello List,
I would like to thank the list for their kind words on and off the list. I
have about 200 e-mails I need to answer and a large stack of mail to go
through so please give me a little slack in my replying in one e-mail to
everyone. One almost had to question my logic in taking the time
Hi there list. Being my first time in tucson, to me it was like being in hollywood. You have the who's who of the meteorite world. From all over the world. I was so impressed by everyone and everything Isaw. Meteorites from everywhere, that you will never see on ebay. I was totally humbled and put
So sorry Mark...she called me for dinner.

Hello List and Mark,
I will chime in and report that the experience of Tucson, from a first
timers perspective, was wonderful. The auctions and birthday party were a
great chance to meet many wonderful people and see some of the those
wonderful out of this world meteorite specimens. I will take
Hi everyone, I am still here in room 316, but will
close tonight. The show has been very good. Meteorites are getting rarer by the
day. Some things were almost non-existent, i.e. Allende, Gibeon, etc. Falls are
few and far between, even the desert meteorites are rare. The Moroccans brought

Hello Good list, I am sorry if I sound like a crazed lunatic, that is not my
intention! I am a believer in letting nature take it coarse, especially when
it comes to a possible new witnessed fall. I could see why the general
public would be interested in diverting an earth bound asteroid. But
I think for it to be a witnessed fall, the witness has to survive to
tell the tale... ;-) --R

did it make a noise? question, eh?

Hi All,
Just got back last night. I met my family at the RV Park in which
my wife and I and our Shi-Tzus stayed. Unfortunately, Tucson is
totally insane and refuses to suspend road work during the show,
so, movement is impossible on the freeway system, but detours
were soon mastered and
Hi
Two questions for the list, thanks
1) Has there been anymore information regarding NWA 300, classified etc.
2) Are NWA 869, NWA 787, and NWA 900, paired, the same fall, different numbers etc.
Thanks.
Ed

Hello
NWA 900 is in analysis in Geramny but probably is
paired to the other meteorites similar to NWA 869
etc... NWA 900 is strange for the inclusions find -
see Norton Book - .

Hi List,
I think that all the meteorite dealers should
try to have their rooms at the same hotel. I also think that Mike Blood should
have his auction a little earlier. But then againI also think I need a
better job that pays more money so I can buy more rocks.
Also I would like to add that
Tom,
First off, many of R pieces from the desert are oxidized a bit.
According to Rocks from Space, these meteorites have very little free
metal floating around in the makeup. Like normal chondrites with nickel
iron. The metal is in the sulfide forms of pyrrhotite and pentlandite. The
iron

The gun oil would be the best for the final stage of coating. DO NOT.
REPEATDO NOTuse WD-40 as some dealers/collectors/websites recommend.
WD-40 contains a large percentage of water that will cause that sucker to
rust quicker than you can shake a stick at.

Hello Bob and list, I might be new to this, but I do know one thing! I
started out with a rather small collection that over this last year has not
grown much. It is still a small collection (30) with a lot of duplicate
meteorites. I kept my meteorites in a military ammo box with a big bag of
I was watching discovery channel this evening and saw
something that just would have never occured to me. It
seems, that when something oxidizes, it gains weight
from the added oxygen atoms!
How simple a principle can that be!? So, to keep tabs
on your collection, one only needs to weigh them
