Ferric Chloride has been used for many years for etching meteorites. (I
personally etched a small Canyon Diablo in about 1985 and it has never shown
any signs of rust). Iv'e even etched campos in Ferric, and they are fine too.
You must neutralize the iron after etching however, in Sodium

classified as an L7, then NAU went back and reclassified it as a primitive
achonderite and consider it to be paired with nwa 3133

I really do not understand Adam's ideal of official. Neither NWA 787 or
NWA 869 has been published in any meteorite bulliten. And unlike what you

Maybe this is nasty, but to me Mike's Oman rock looks like a
terrestrial fine-grained sedimentary conglomerate. Rocks of this type
are not uncommon in the Oman desert.
