I just received a notice for the 2007 Meteoritical Society annual meeting.
The dates are August 13-17.
Does this coincide with either the Tucson or any other major
mineral[meteorite] show in the area??

mineral shows outdoors.

Hi,
Having just acquired a rather lovely endpiece of Dho 007, I have been poring
thru the various bits of literature (ie MAPS) and web sites.I was wondering
how strong the arguments were for this material to be possibly Mercurian in
origin rather than a Vestoid fragment.
Even in the MAPS article,

Bob, reminds me of a nantan!
No mater how you fix up an iron, it may rust from the inside! I have several meteorites that turned to rust and several that look brand new! I guess it depends on how much lorensite is in the rock!

Hi Jerry:
No. No other meteorite meetings at that time. This just happens to be the

Hi McCartney,
Your absolutely correct, there are plenty of Brenham specimens that are
stable. I know that there have been some in museums for 70 plus years
that don't appear to have any problems and were probably ones found in

No matter how you slice it, all irons have some porosity. Some irons
have more porosity than others.
Oxygen gets in there along with water. Unless you pull a vacuum on it,
you leave that Oxy and water to rust. If you seal it without treatment,
you leave the Oxy and water to form oxide. If your

Well, I am home after a hectic week in Germany.
The show was not as good as usual, for one, they moved
the show to the opposite halls, so it was quite
confusing for everyone trying to find dealers stands.
Meteorite-wise, it was the worst show I have ever seen
in Munich.
