Hi
I have strange luck to find really strange things inside my meteorites.
Thats why I like to cut them as thin as I can :). Sometimes too thin.
Helping this list go back to meteorites, I will continue my

Hi,
The heavyweight is about as heavy as you can
get without turning into a small star:
the newly discovered planet is about 1.18 times
brighter than Jupiter and 8.2 times as massive.
When they say slightly bigger than Jupiter,
they are apparently assuming it is 1.18 times
brighter
I got out for about a total of 8hr in the last two
days to hunt. Was able to find 3 little chondrites on
a dry lake bed in CA.
1st find is 3.4g
2 is .3g
3 is .5g
Hope its ok to post it here. I know I like
to see pic of people finds, big or small. It
helps me to get out there and look.

Hi all,
As many of you know, I'm new to meteorite collecting (16 so far). I
have 3 Campos. The first two came looking more naturalshiny and
metallic looking. I put some Rig on them to keep them from rusting. Rig
is a goop that hunters put on guns to keep them from rusting.
ok sorry again, new to all this they were marked
private. try them now.

Hi Joseph (and List),
I live in the very center of Arizona and so it is pretty dry here. As I
wrote earlier, my first two Campos are pretty clean, and have for the most
part, a shiny, metallic appearance. They are not *perfectly* clean and
shiny, but darn close. By applying a
Hi Greg all,
I have seen these black looking capos and was told the
substance was mineral oil, for what that's worth.
What is aRig?
Best wishes, Michael

I just bought a Ghubaro and plan to have part of it made into a sphere,
obviously ;), and the rest will be cut into slices
I would like to polish the slices and was wondering if anyone has any
experience doing this.
I have a variety of belt sanders and palm sanders but I don't know what kind
Assuming you mean Ghubara :) First, I should mention that I am new to
cutting and polishing, so you can take what I have to say with a grain of
salt. I did my research, however, and have had monumental success with the
unit I purchased. If you are planning to lap lots of slices now and in to

I know Bob Haag had a whole dish full of small Holbrook stones with 100% fusion

Hi List,
While on a recent road trip to hunt meteorites at Tungsten Mtn I
decided to stop at Smith Creek Valley Dry Lake. The area looked like a
possible place to hunt meteorites. After about an hour of searching I
saw something in the distance that looked out of place. I decided to
