Dear List,
Does anyone have any personal use experience of a PLB (Personal Locator
Beacon)? Some places meteorite hunters go do not have cell phone coverage.
Hi Rob,
I think you may be wrong. It's a solid propellant out board propellant
missile. You can tell from the efflux [ smoke ]. On the youtube video
at 4.26 minutes into the tape you can hear the outboard motor on the
missile
as it get closer to the earth. : )

My wife is an avid back packer. I often don't go on these hikes, but I
still worry about where she's at and her status when she hikes. So we
George and List,
Thank you George! Thank you for your valuable comments and experience.
BTW; what was the background sound (radio-like transmission) on the CBS news
report posted on YouTube on my site? Please take a close listen to the part

Dirk...just to add a little more here about our SPOT device. First, I
don't hear any kind of radio signal from this device. The entire signal shows
up on my computer. Over the course of a year, we use this device probably
more than the average user. As an example for this past year, my wife

Hi Dirk,
I received a SPOT as a Christmas present and have been quite satisfied with
it.
Pros:
-Small size compared to other PLB's
-Ability to send pre-programmed personalized messages with coordinates. I
have two messages programmed. The first is a This is where we are

Hi all,
I have a really good metal detector for sale, it is in great condition. It
has an additional digital display with it. It has a minelab carrying case with
it.
It was $700 new and the digital display was an extra $120
Ill sell it all for $225 shipped.
If interested contact me off list.
One issue I find hard to understand is the video clearly shows a slow
moving object compared to a missile launch. rockets tend to be very fast,
you can visibly see the movement relative to clouds and alien space craft,
where with an aircraft the movement is had to see sometimes when you see it
Thank you! Now I'll have something to do in the dark evenings now that DST
has past.

Hi all,
I'm new to the list and have a question about last November's fall over Utah.
I lucked out and saw it from my home. Got to hear it too. I've seen my share
of meteors but that's the first one I was close enough to to hear.
There were a number of videos from many angles so it was
