Dear List,
Core is exposed and radiation is now leaking directly into the environment.

Count,
I'm sure it would help the peace of mind of the great unwashed and
medieval thinking people like myself if the liberal and antiliberal press
alike would do their job, ask the right questions to the right people, and
explain a few basic facts. I am presuming the reactor's pneumatically or

Hi Count and all,
Glad to see your post here. I just made the same comment to people yesterday
who were worried.
I believe that most (sensible) reactors use water to moderate the reaction.
If the reactor gets too hot (pressure and all) then the water evaporates and
the reaction stops. 3
Hi Dirk,
Way to go!

Here in france, top officials at Areva (main worldwide conceptor) and

They don't expect a Chernobyl kind of situation but more like 3 Mile Island

Prices are interesting with the meteorite. I do know that most of the material
on the market is stolen and should not be sold. Egypt does not allow the
export of meteorites and last I read, only about 2kg was approved for export.
Its a nice meteorite, but should be considered illegal just like

Hi Listees and Collectors, Lurkers and Friends -

Dear List,
The suffering Japanese have enough real threats and consequences to shoulder

Hi Count and List,
I do agree about the fear-mongering in the media. It is interesting
to visit the major US news websites and pay attention to which outlets
are using the most sensationalistic language and engaging in blatant
fear-mongering. Some outlets are reasonably reporting the news with

Greetings Folks,
NWA 2945 is listed in the Meteoritical Bulletin now as a low TKW L4 chondrite,
yet when you Google NWA 2945 you also get results from years past describing a
larger mass mesosiderite as well as an EL3. Did the NWA 2945 designation

Dear Greg - The classification for NWA 2945 in the Bulletin is correct (L4).
The repository piece and the thin section that we have is an L4 chondrite. I
do recall that the number 2945 was given out for more than one stone. I do
not know how this problem was solved, if at all.

Hello Listers,
Thank you for taking a look at my post of meteorites I have for sale on eBay.

First, why again like too many others on this list, are you changing the

Hello Richard, Greg, All,
To date an estimated 2-3 tonnes of shrapnel fragments have been

Hello Carl,
If we were talking about private ownership, I'd have to agree with

perspective.
The first is that we in the US (as well as our government) don't seem

I was talking about Egyptian material. Specifically Gebel Kamil.

So, I say again. If it is illegal to own things there. It goes without saying
it is also illegal to export it.
This has been said to be the case
Carl,
You don't seem to understand what I'm saying.
1) The Egyptian government has made no claims regarding meteorite
ownership. The questionable claims were made by a few Egyptian
professors. No one with official governmental standing has said
anything.
2) Egypt has no laws in place
In a specimen that may be a hematite, a strong presence of nickel was found.
