Hi Listers:
The Catalog of Meteorites lists the fall date of the Dresden (Ontario)
Canada H6 fall as occurring on June 11, 1939.
Yet the following give a date of July 11, 1939 with a recovery date of
July 12, 1939.

Sure Bernd, But are you suggesting ALL material is swallowed up by the
Sun? Surely not ALL would be would it?

Well, Eric and List, because getting ejected into the outer reaches
of the solar system and surviving this "torture" is much easier than
"falling" toward the Sun without being "swallowed" by our central
star ... thinking of sungrazing

Absolutely! Why not? It makes perfect sense. Not sure why it's taken
science this long to start accepting the idea. We have Mars and Lunar
meteorite recovered on Earth that were ejected millions of years ago and
fell no too long ago in geologic history. Mars has many meteorites on it

Hi Mike:
Probably not. The main mass remains in private hands, and the
Geological Survey of Canada Research section which deals with meteorites
has done little work on it. A tentative classification of H6? was given
soon after the fall. Other than that, nothing has been done.
There are 14 o
List, All,
I would like to explain the situation here as I see it.
To me this whole story is amazing.
Out of the blue Guido posts on the met-list that he is in possession of a very
rare meteorite.
After looking at the mere photos of it I responded that it "looked like Cat MT
in every way".

Hi Guido,
My questions are. Was the find really made there..in that
sub-division, or are the coordinates incorrect in the Bulletin...and if
so, was this done on purpose?
Yes this is the true location of the find. Please, if you have any
other information let us know!
As with all my other f
I wouldn't be surprised if ejecta from all the rocky planets have
been trading ejecta with each over since the formation of the solar system.

Nice Adventure and Great job on the new S.R. you found in Kenya. That
multicolor meteorite sure is a nice strange colored specimen. Dream it,
then do it just as you did. Also a good job goes out to Greg & Robert on
there new finds.

Hi Count Guido
I have absolutely no knowledge, but there are several factors you need
to consider before sparring with the Met Bulletin.
First, is the coordinate system specified? It is quite easy to mix up
WGS's in those sorts of localities regardless of what the official
policy is ...

This once again raises the question whether planetary ejecta from
the inner regions of the solar system (Venus, Mercury) may have
made it to Earth (and beyond) just like Earth ejecta may have been
catapulted into regions beyond the asteroid
