Dan, List,
That "scope" is the AVS Cineflex HD Video system
used for aerial shots of sporting events and the like.
I don't know it's ultimate resolving power, but if you
can see the football clearly in an aerial shot, presumably
you could see a large meteorite, or an impact pit in
this search.

Funny how through editing they imply that the Jennisken find was somehow
aided by the airship.

Dear List Members,
We are offering the last of the Sutter's Mill carbonaceous chondrite house
smasher hammer stone.
Due to overwhelming demand for pieces of this historic hammer stone featured on
BBC worldwide, we decided to even break up our own collection pieces (we each
have a complete ston

Hi Jim,
In the article of your first link, you'll find the
following confusing sentence:
"It was then he learned that not only did he find the largest
piece to date, but that his find has been identified as the
main mass of the meteor."
I guess the writer wasn't clear on what was meant by "main
Hi to all, hope everyone is doing well.
I have a large complete stone with a CAI that is over 1cm. These are
pretty rare of this size. In addition, its also the main mass of NWA

The last CAI of this size was offered for science and quickly picked up by
researchers, this one is being made a
Hi Friends and Collectors,
I have some larger macro type specimens that include some nice endcuts
and whole stones. My stock of these macro-sized meteorites is limited
and some of them will sell out quickly. As always, you get 20% off

Hi Folks and Fall-watchers,
Dr. Jenniskens and I have both updated our pages recently. Dr.
Jenniskens is the official page with find coordinates for each
specimen. My page includes additional finds that are unofficial and
it also includes a running tally of the known TKW - which is often

If the camera they show can image a football,
presumably it could image a large meteorite.

Recent results of the Dawn mission show that the asteroid Vesta is the
only known remnant from a big early phase of planet formation.
The cameras help NASA's Dawn space probe the mysteries of the asteroid
Vesta. The color images now confirm: Vesta is a relic from th
