Good question. I guess this one slipped under the radar, so to speak.
So, no offense to the Peabody Nat. Museum, but who verified it? If it
was the curator of Central American Antiquities, then I'll wait for
further verification.

Hi Folks,
I have a friend in Europe who is doing a series of presentations

involves using magnets and stardust (iron meteorite cuttings).
These demos have been a hit and he plans on doing another round of
them soon.

Adam,
During the campus-wide Berkeley Days event last weekend, Crystal, Jacob and I
went to visit Jason, Peter and Barbara Utas who put on an incredible
outreach/educational program. In a classroom of the earth sciences building,
they displayed some impressive specimens from their collection.
Well, this does explain my ravishing youthful looks, vibrant attitude,
and stallion-like reproductive prowess. After years of consuming
meteorite dust, it's finally starting to pay off!

Mike,
In all seriousness, you should not be surprised. Tiger penis, rhino horn, shark
fin soup, etc. These are all believed to be rare and good for man. Meteorites
just takes it to another level for the rich and flacid.

Are there many stones from which those of you participating in this
discussion have each inhaled the dust? Since the BLM can, now,
effectively outlaw commercial distribution of meteorites found on
public land here in the U.S., which I surely couldn't have anyway,

Hi List,
We keep hearing about the IMB nodules that have been recovered -
these have an all-black lithology with no chondrules, shock veins, or
grey matrix material.
However, these nodules were not created on impact. Had there been
such an impact, we would have a visible crater and the nodules
The meteorite is an IMB. These nodules being harder than the matrix were
separated into individuals when the meteorite exploded.
They are like thousands of Cat Mountains.

The explosions in the atmosphere destroy the meteorite, it does not affect the

To me, Impact Melt should mean total melt to liquid...no fragments of
