Team Meteorite:
The bi-annual edition of The Global Meteorite Price Report - 2015 is
available. Note - I will not be offering this on the met-list again
until I publish
the next report for 2017.
Purchasers will receive it as a pdf file attached to an email.
I guess everybody's perception is different. I read that attendance is the
lowest in a decade and two meteorite dealers, one artifact dealer and one
mineral vendor I talked to said they would be lucky to earn their show fees
back and they probably will not be returning next year. It looks
Tucson is jumping. All hotels full. More people than in many years. Sales are
good. Supply is way down. Prices are up because supply running out.
The show is great. Last year was my best year at the show, didn't sell a
million $$$ but actually not far from it.
People with no material and no

I take the buyer's market comment back. I just read some emails from
several collectors and one dealer that vendors are asking full retail and
there are very few bargains to be had. It used to be that it was worth the
price of traveling there in order to pick up a few good deals. No such

I cannot speak to sales or supplies, but Mike F. is correct about the
people attending - -I just arrived home from Innsuites and there was no
parking. I had to park about 5 blocks away in old downtown and walk to the
hotel.
Sometimes this happens later during show but never saw this the very
The reason there were no parking spots left is that the overflow parking in
the dirt was muddy from what I was told from a fossil buyer who left early
in disgust. Everybody knows that there is no where near enough parking at
the Insuites to begin with, even under normal circumstances. There
Tucson is scarier to me than Oman, Rub al Kali and the Australian Outback,
especially at night. There is a reason that 24 hour convenience stores lock
their doors at dusk and pass goods through barred windows at night there.
The nearby Mexican border town of Nogales no fun either. Been there
Hi Friends and Collectors,

Mike, you should be commended for putting on a brave face during adversity.
One just needs to look at news reports that have no reason to lie about
attendance. I noticed attendance dropping off last year when I did go to
the show. For the first time I can recall, getting a room is no problem
Teslas will not be built in Nevada, just batteries. Yes, great city cars.
I'm sure Nevada is way more scary than say, Oman, the Rub al Kali, the
Australian outback, etc. Camel Donga was more than 150 miles from the nearest
road. Not even a casino nearby.
I think I can handle off-road driving
Good grief. Why worry about it? You aren't here.
I drive a $130,000 tesla, and I got parking and even made it through the mud! I
wouldn't subject it to any bad parking conditions.
You would think by your post that somehow Tucson has become The Congo. Just
play on eBay and leave Tucson to the
Teslas, which are soon to be built right here in Nevada, are extremely nice
city cars but you will need a $160,000.00 Jeep American Expedition Vehicles
(AEV) Rubicon Brute or a Jeep Special Operations (SPLOPS) Rubicon to hang
with the big boys in field :)
What does a Tesla have to do with a

I'm confused, how could attendance be lowest in decades? The show starts today.
There are no rental cars and very hard to find a place to sleep in the entire
city. It is pouring rain and flooding and hotel is full, parking lot
completely full and people walking blocks in the rain to get here.
